Kaj vonjate te dni ja jadranski obali?
Sprehod po hrvaškem Kamenjaku vedno dodobra namuči moj nos. V najlepšem možnem smislu. Korak levo lahko pomeni začimbni vonj po smilju, spet desno pa sladkobni, mošusni in zeliščni vonj po nečem, kar prebudi v meni prav posebne spomine. Tega vonja ne pozabiš nikoli. Že nekaj let od izkušnje z njim, ga v sledovih lovim po zraku predvsem v maju, ko se odpravim na dolge sprehode po tem krasnem rtu in med prsti mečkam vse mogoče liste, da bi ugotovila, kaj pravzaprav tvori ta značilni vonj, aromo oz. katera sorta prispeva vanj največji del.
Poznate ga, saj je to tisti vonj, ki obeta poletje, ki se stopnjuje s porastom temperatur in v zraku ostaja še dolgo zatem, ko rastlina že odvrže vse cvetove.
Vonjate ga na izsušenih, soncu ispostavljenih in revnih kamnitih tleh vse vzdolž jadranske obale in še mnogo širše. Ampak ostanimo tukaj, kjer večina nas preživi vsaj del prostih dni na leto.
Sama nisem pretirani ljubitelj poletij na hrvaški obali, zato tukaj preživljam mirnejše dni. Ko so plaže še prazne, ko je narava spočita in zelena, temperature bolj “delovne” v zraku pa je mir in pisana paleta vonjav.

Zakaj prav on?
Pred leti smo na enem od družinskih potovanj po priporočilu zavili v notranjost Portugalske, kjer smo imeli priložnost v slikoviti in idilični okolici žeti in destilirati cistus.

Lastnika destilarne Marju in Marko sta v Lisboni zapustila svoje domovanje in dobro plačani zaposlitvi, ter se z družino preselila na severovzhod Portugalske, kjer sta ob kristalno čistem izviru kupila star mlin in ga predelala v destilarno.

Skozi nasade citrusev smo se z Markovim traktorjem odpeljali v gozd, kjer se kot podrast bohoti nešteto brškinov sorte Cistus Ladanifer L.

Mošusni,oster, sladkoben, začimben, zeliščen vonj je napolnil prostor, ko so v separator pritekle prve kapljice. Na enkrat se sin, takrat navihan desetletnik, obrne k meni in vzklikne: “Mami, to je podobno kot tvoj parfum!"
Res je, labdanum, torej smola, ki jo izločajo vsi deli rastline Cistus Ladanifer kot obrambni mehanizem pred visokimi temperaturami, se v obliki absoluta nahaja v meni ljubem parfumu, kultnem Chanel No. 5. To le kot opomnik, kako ostri so noski otrok in kako dobro je, da jih urimo v rani mladosti, saj zaznavajo nianse, ki jih odrasli brez posebnih treningov skorajda ne zmoremo več.
Še danes hranim stekleničko eteričnega olja brškina in njegov hidrolat, oba sta še vedno v odlični formi. Pravzaprav se zdi, kot da se z leti žlahtita, zato še vedno služita za priklic spominov in dnevna sanjarjenja ;).
Cistus Ladanifer srečamo v več oblikah izvlečkov. Najbolj pogost postopek ekstrakcije je parna destilacija celotne rastline, ki daje eterično olje in hidrolat.
Tretja oblika je absolut, ki ga pridobivajo iz smole, imenovane labdanum. Enako poimenovanje ima tudi absolut. Če se prva dva uporabljata v aromaterapiji in v naravni kozmetiki (adstringentno in protimikrobno delovanje), je labdanum danes cenjen kot spodnja in bazična nota v naravni in konvencionalni prafumeristiki, saj daje parfumom globino, sladkobo ter usnjat, jantarni vonj.

Brškin na Jadranu
Nekaj sličnega, le nežnejšega in manj intenzivnega me mami in draži na mojih sprehodih po Kamenjaku. Vem, da brškin uspeva tudi na Jadranu, vendar o tukaj rastočih sortah nikoli nisem vedela kaj dosti. Hrvaški viri navajajo tri, dve od njih sem letos ujela v objektiv, da sem jih lahko kasneje identificirala ter končno raziskala, katera od njih daje ta značilni mediteranski vonj.
Literatura pravi, da ob jadranski obali uspevajo:
Cistus salviifolius (žajbljelistni brškin oz. kaduljasti bušin hr. )
Cistus monspeliensis (ozkolistni ali lepljivi brškin oz. ljepljivi bušin hr. )
Cistus x incanus; tudi Cistus creticus (sivi brškin oz. ružičasti bušin, divlji pelin hr. )

Slednji dve sorti uspevata tudi na Kamenjaku pri Puli, vendar labdanum (poleg Cistus ladanifer, ki uspeva na S obalah Afrike in v zahodnem Sredozemlju) proizvaja le Cistus creticus in od tu opojne vonjave, ki se bodo z več sončnih žarkov in dvigom temperature ozračja le še stopnjevale.
Cistusi imajo terapevtsko delovanje in so znani po svojih blagodejnih učinkovinah. Čeprav nežnejše arome, so dobro raziskana tudi etrična olja sort, ki uspevajo pri naših sosedih. Fitokemijsko in antimikrobno delovanje posameznih sort cistusov si lahko preberete tukaj. Najnovejše raziskave cistusom pripisujejo zelo dobro protivirusno delovanje, sicer pa so polni flavonoidov, ki so znani po protivnetnih, antialergijskih in antitumornih lastnostih.
Raziskava, ki primerja delovanje izvlečkov C. incanus in C. ladanifer indicira izjemno blagodejno delovanje različnih sort Cistusa na zdravje in izgled kože; oba imata izjemne antioksidativne lastnosti, zavirata aktivnost tirozinaze (povečana koncentracija tega encima lahko vodi do nastanka melanoma) in imata potencial UV zaščite. Zagotovo bomo o brškinu v naravavni kozmetiki v prihodnje še veliko slišali.
Priprava brškinovega čaja
Naberite liste in cvetove v lepem in sončnem vremenu!
Oboje posušite v senčnem in zračnem prostoru. Zdrobite osušeno drogo ter cca. 3 g (1 jedilna žlica) prelijte s 1/2 litra vrele vode. Po 5 minutah čaj precedite ter svežega zaužijte. V kolikor boste čaju dodajali med, naj bo čaj ohlajen na 40 stopinj.
