Menda obstajata samo dva tipa čoveka. Tisti, ki prisegajo na čaj in takšni, ki si ne predstavljamo dneva brez dobre skodelice kave. Če odložimo šalo na stran, ali te vedeli, da kar 80-90 odstotkov (razlike med metodologijo, manipulacijo in še čim med statističnimi raziskavami, ampak ste dojeli bistvo) svetovne populacije dnevno uživa kofeinske napitke? Ste vedeli, da gre pri kofeinu v pravem čaju in tistem v kavi za enak alkaloid, ki pa se glede na izvor različno veže na druge snovi in ima tako drugačen vpliv na naše telo? Bistveno je vedeti, da se t.i. tein (kofein, ki izvira iz čaja) veže na aminokislino L-teanin, ki čajnemu kofeinu preprečuje prehitro sproščanje. Zatorej je pravi čaj stimulans na daljši rok in energijo v telesu zadrži dlje, medtem ko je kava takojšnja pomoč pri prebujanju, vendar njeno učinkovanje prav tako hitro tudi splahni.
Med pisanjem tega članka sem naletela na številne zanimivosti, in kot pravi kavofil začela resno razmišljati tudi o vsaj delnem prehodu na uživanje čaja.
